Mark Roadnight

Mark began playing the guitar at age 12, and has been playing the guitar professionally since 1990. He spent 5 years playing full time with various bands performing all over the country.
Having been with South End Music School for over 10 years, Mark teaches all ages and abilities, across a variety of styles including blues, soul, country, rock and pop.
In addition to teaching acoustic, electric and bass guitar, Mark has entered over 100 students to date through the RGT (Registry of Guitar Tutors) exam syllabus, again with exceptional pass rates. Mark gives his expertise to solo artists who want to improve their overall performance technique as well as helping them with song writing. He also assists in the preparation of audition pieces and in recording demo tracks for college and university entrants.
Mark also provides extra-curricular tuition to GCSE students. His ability to assist students in developing technique for GCSE performances has proved invaluable. He has taught for over 8 years as a peripatetic teacher within state secondary schools, and has achieved exceptional pass rates with his pupils, many achieving A grades.
Mark is also the founder and lead singer of local bands The Old Avengers, plus its ‘off-shoot’ acts, Simply Dan, and The ToP (Tower of Power) Avengers. Somehow he also finds time to sing and play guitar in Roadnight and Black, AND play bass with The Jess Hayes Band!
Mark currently teaches at South End Music School on Saturday. For information about this tutor’s availability or to make a booking please e-mail, or contact us on 0208 680 9747.
